A fresh set of Falken Azenis will serve as practice/lapping/rollers for storage rubber. The old set of 215's were over a decade old and were used for almost all of the development and testing of the car in 2003-2004, my driver’s school and a local “spec Miata” winter series of informal races in 2007ish. I think I got my money’s worth out of them several times over. They eventually got so hard that they never really wore any further past a certain point.
Yesterday was a double racer’s crack pipe hit with both car parts and new tires showing up at the house. For some reason, Discount Direct sent me tires from warehouses in two separate states, so the other two will show up later in the week.

These came from some fellow autocrossers who were running their CRX in CSP in the 90's. They’re out there on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-1987-HONDA-CRX-ALLOY-WHEEL-RIM-WITH-CENTER-CAP-14x5-4x100/182359580042?epid=1923909372&hash=item2a757a5d8a:g:-ocAAOSwiONYMK7o&vxp=mtr

I’m still trying to figure out what I want to stick on my Mini. I want super sticky autocross tires but logistics mean I have to daily on whatever I get.

I’ve run both the old Azenis 215's and the newer 615's on street cars. I always thought they were fine (and fun) on the street. To date myself, I’m still wrapping my head around SCCA autocrossers running 200 tread wear rated tires in stock/street classes instead of R compound rubber. I would imagine they’ll heat cycle out of competitiveness long before you run into tread wear problems.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

Pilot Supersports. My BIL dailys a set on his MK4 TDI and uses the for “aggressive” driving on some tight back roads. They made a huuuuuge difference over the Copper AS3s or whatever he had before.
